Spark

Oh Buzzfeed... you did it again.
This is by far the best video I've ever stumbled upon at 3am. There is so much inspiration and positivity. It makes me want to do everything on the list. Some of the things on the list are things that I would never, EVER do. That's spontaneity for you.

The best part of the video is that there is no age requirement. The title is "things to do before you settle down." It's amazing to think that I can work on my own list right now, or in a couple of years.

If anything, it definitely sparked something in me.
Did you enjoy the video?

Always,
Kristel.

Filipina Inspiration

Hi all! Today I want to talk about the application of makeup in the Philippines, compared to the application here in America. Lately, I've been obsessing over how beautiful the celebrities look! Like always, I've composed a list of the Filipina makeup trends.
Heart Evangelista - philnews.ph
1. Contacts. Although this is not makeup, contacts are a part of someone's look.
Filipino celebrity flaunt colored contacts and it's starting to become an everyday accessory. In America, most people rock their natural eye color.

2. Brows. Lately the fashion trends are full and filled-in brows. Filipino and American makeup artists follow the trend, but each have a specific style. Filipino brows are full and straight. It automatically gives an innocent look to one's face. American artists are more prominent in high arcs.

3. Contour. In the Philippines, face contour is used for a tiny bit of warmth in the skin, but the nose is precisely contoured! Instead of plastic surgery, the contour is strong to make the nose appear skinny and lifted. In America, skinny noses are not as important and it's used for bringing out the cheekbones.

4. Skin finish.  From what I see, Filipinas love fair skin and dewy finishes. It's like they prefer a healthy glow.

As you can see, there are many comparisons in these pictures of filipina celebrities. I'm not saying filipina celebrities have ALL these specific trends in their makeup look, but you will definitely catch one or two!

Which is your favorite filipina makeup trend?

Always,
Kristel.

Dear Old Me

So tomorrow is my birthday and I want to reflect on the years that affected who I am today.
People around me have always been on this time limit and their lives are planned to the tiniest detail. I was never that type of person. I too have dreams and passions, but I never felt the need to keep it age restricted. If that were the case, I feel like my anxiety levels will go off the charts. At the age of 23, I am currently doing nothing and my life is at a pause. It's always hard for me to admit that, but then I realized, maybe it isn't a bad thing. I'm okay with doing nothing.

When will I ever get the chance to do nothing?

When I say I am doing nothing, it's not like I am lying here staring at the ceiling. I have a job that is not my dream job, but I am able to take care of the little things. I have a bachelor's degree, but I am waiting on a response for graduate nursing school. Even though I have been waiting months and months, my mind will be positive until that response shows up in the mail. The waiting game is eating me, but that's a given. I have a boyfriend. To make matters a little complicated, we are currently long distance. He is in Oklahoma for the military. I shouldn't fret. He's there for me even though he is not physically beside me. I have family and friends, specifically people who include you in their life and happily accepts who you are. My parents are the most understanding, supportive, and positive people I know and it amazes me. Not once have they told me to start my life. Don't get me wrong, I am not going to let my parents take care of me forever. Please don't think of me that way. I always ask them What should I do? They always respond it's up to you. Those simple words mean everything. It IS up to me and it always has been. Just thinking about their support overwhelms my heart. Nothing actually feels like everything if I were think about these important details in my 23 year old life.

In honor of my birthday, let's give some advice to old me.

1. Stop caring what others think of you. Seriously, who cares. If what they're saying has no  positive affect on your life, then it simply does not matter. The only thing that matters is how you think of yourself.

2. Don't think about the success of others. You'll get there. Just like Mulan, "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of them all."

3. Laugh more. Laugh with the people you love. Most importantly, laugh at yourself. There will be multiple times where you embarrass yourself. But you know what? IT HAPPENS.

4. Stay positive. There are SO many times in your life that you will get discouraged. It will always be okay. If it doesn't work out, it's not meant to be. Believe in your fate.

5. Be forever young. There is a difference between young spirited and childish. Eat whatever the hell you want. Dance like Beyonce when you are drunk. Snapchat duck faces once in a while (KNOW YOUR LIMIT). No one ever wants to be around a sour puss kill joy.

I truly hope you enjoyed this positive note.

Always,
Kristel.

The best time to spend a Sunday afternoon is bonding with the little family members!
We wanted to imitate the emojis that I use on a daily basis.
It was so much fun with this silly one!

New Years Resolution

Greetings bloggers!
Finally I have the chance to blog! To start off the new year, there is no other way to celebrate than to talk about my new years resolutions. Normally I am not a believer in new years resolutions because every day we should make goals where we improve or better ourselves. You don't need a new year to have a new you! But... for extra motivation, it doesn't hurt to write down goals for 2015.

2015 Goals:

1. Start up my YouTube channel. No matter how many times I start, I always end up in a lag because my creative juices start to dry out. This year, IT MUST CHANGE!

2. Become a positive person. This is something I want to focus on this year. I get anxiety when I think about the past and it's difficult to think positive at times. Starting now, I want to condition my mind to rid the doubt that fog my confidence!

3. Kickstart my nursing dream. I am slowly on my way of becoming a nurse and I am so eager to start. Waiting is hard, but patience is key. Applications are in, now we must wait!

4. I want to live my age. I want to travel! I want to enjoy a night out with friends! I want to do spontaneous and adventurous things! Anything that will make me feel young and free, I will do.

5. Be different. I want to continue to learn about myself. I want to have an open mind whether it's about new fashion styles or create new dreams. I want to be different and unique. I want to be my own person.

As you can see, my goals are just everyday goals. I don't care for losing weight, buying a car, or eating healthy. Every day I want to accept change in a beneficial way.

What are you new years resolutions?

Always,
Kristel.
