Winter Essentials

Hello all!

Is it even winter yet? Well, since it's December, I will officially say it's winter. This season screams COZY! Even though winter is the bomb dot com, I need to keep in mind of my ten essentials for the winter!

1. Lip balm in my coat pocket. My lips hate me in general. There is never a time where my lips are perfectly moistened (why does that sound gross to me?). My current favorite lip balm is Baby Lips. Keeping it in my coat pocket is easy access during the winter time. If I forget the lip balm, my lips will crack and break yo mama's back!

2. Beanie on my head. Even if I have a good or bad hair day, I love wearing a beanie. It's warm and the wind doesn't whip it off your head like a hood would do. Different color beanies can definitely make a fashion statement.

3. LOTION, LOTION, LOTION! Although this might be a tedious task, lotion is very important when going out. My skin is very sensitive in the cold. I get red spots all over my body. I think the most important place to moisturize is my face. I have a specific face wash for acne skin. If I don't put lotion, I will peel like crazy.

4. Tea a day. Lately I've been doing this! If you watch my vlogs, I have a few days where I have my usual cup of tea. It's starting to become a routine. Drinking a cup of tea instantly gets me going during the winter time. My favorite winter tea is Tazo calm chamomile.

5. Fleece blankets. I don't know about you, but blankets can be a love/hate relationship during the winter time. The heat in the household can get pretty hot and sometimes I can't stand it. Instead of using my thick comforter at night, I grab a fleece blanket and I feel just right.

6. My winter boots. In my last picture on my last post I'm wearing my bean boots. THEY ARE AMAZING. They are not only the most warmest boots in the planet, but they have such a unique style. I'm all in for the unique look! They can be snow/rain boots. I can step in fluffy snow and wet snow! It took me forever to get them because I was on a wait list (I never knew they were that popular.). I ordered them in December and got them during the beginning of March. Crazy right?

7. A winter playlist. Just like a summer playlist, I have to have a winter playlist for late night drives or snuggling in the bedroom. Recently I found a playlist on Spotify called "Afternoon Acoustic" and it is perfecto. There are a couple of Ed Sheeran songs too!

8. Dark lipstick. During the summer, I was very hesitant in putting on dark lipstick because I'm surrounded by bright colors like coral, teals, or pastels. In the winter, it doesn't matter anymore! I can throw on a knit sweater, a dark lippy, and boom! No one will judge. Haha!

9. Black leggings. Oh my goodness where do I begin with black leggings?! I have been wearing black leggings every single day and I don't even feel bad about it! No worries y'all, I do laundry and I have more than one. Laziness takes a toll during the cold weather. I literally wear my black leggings for bummy days and dressing up. That is the beauty of it. I change the top half of my body and voila, new outfit.

10. Coupons. I think this is a hilarious essential, but it is SO TRUE. During winter, there is Christmas. During Christmas, there are presents. When there are presents... I need coupons! I am so obsessed with RetailMeNot. A little __% off can help so much, especially if you have a giant group of family and friends like I do. Give me the deals please!

There you have it! My top ten winter essentials. What a random list, don't you think? Hopefully you enjoyed this post. I know I enjoyed making it. What are your winter essentials? Help a sister out! :)

Always,
Kristel.

Winter is COMING!

Who's excited for SNOW?! I'm excited for snow!
The best part of living in the midwest, Chicago specifically, is the fact that we experience all seasons! I LOVE IT! I especially love the different fashion styles for different seasons. YES PLEASE!
I think I've mentioned it before, but I am so in love with the layering of clothing. Not gonna lie, wearing one piece of clothing can get old. Anyways, like my autumn post, here are some pictures with a sprinkle of winter.

Don't you get chilly looking at them?!
Hope you enjoyed my photos!

Always,
Kristel.

Brows Leading The Way

Lately in the beauty spotlight brows have become an important feature in what makes a face. One of the recent topics of discussion in brows is Taylor Swift's Wonderland magazine cover. Taylor looks totally unrecognizable due to her bold statement brows. Personally, I LOVE IT! I would rather see this look everyday rather than her usual make-up look with her skinny arched brow and red lip. I feel like that look makes her look stand-off-ish, but that's just me! For those who have no idea what magazine cover I am talking about, here it is:

Taylor looks down to earth with this makeup look and I would not hesitate saying hello to a face like hers on this cover. In no way am I promoting "judge a book by it's cover." Honestly, there are first impressions when meeting someone for the first time and sometimes there is some intimidation. Taylor, thumbs up to this fresh new look.

Bold statement brows are probably my most favorite fashion trend in this generation. Modern day beauties like Lily Collins and Cara Delevigne flaunt their naturally thick brows and I love the confidence. Ever since I was young I always had thick brows. Unlike today, they were my worst nightmare back when I was in my teens. I was teased about my slight unibrow and all I wanted to do was be like the rest of my friends with naturally clean eyebrows. I went through different phases with over plucking because I was constantly feeling the need to tame the brows. Looking back at my old pictures, my skinny eyebrow phase is hard to look at for more than 5 seconds. I wish I was thankful back then for the brows I am born with. Little did I know, some girls out there wish for naturally thick brows.

Sometimes we get lost in the idea of what's beautiful when we're surrounded by our daily influences. Whether they are people we see every day, or people we see in Hollywood. We just need to take a step back, appreciate what we have, and love ourselves! Bold brows for the win!

Always,
Kristel.

FALLing In Love

I'm looking through my phone and I am noticing quite a few photos that are autumnal. It is so easy to snap a photo and instantly feel artsy during autumn. The changing of the leaves and nice hot beverages make outside comforting. I can read a book, tumbl, and check my social media even in the coldest of weather. The soothing wind and the view of nature itself blur out the coldness of the season. Here are some pictures that I've taken during this cozy season!

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse of my autumn days.

Kristel.

Beauty Blog

Oh hello there! Let's start this over and introduce myself...

I am Kristel, and I am TOTALLY new to this online journal blog. I was trying to be consistent with my social media and I failed. Apologies! I started to touch up on my YouTube again(search: Kristel Burgos), created a new Twitter handle (@kristeeelb), and jotted down inspirations for blogs and vlogs. I guess the motivation is not as strong as before. Thoughts about the future definitely overwhelms me, so I am trying to figure it out. That shouldn't be an excuse though. Either way, this is supposed to be fun?! Okay. Alright. Time to get excited! I have to pump myself up! Let's go! (Ugh, I hope I don't have to start over again. Haha!)

My idea for the RESTARTING this blog is more focused on fashion and beauty. I am going to start posting my outfit of the days on here! Woot woot! I might even gather some of my favorite beauty products that i'm feeling... like maybe the color lipstick that I am wearing for the day. Anywhoooo, I just want to be more consistent! If I am not consistent... well... there will be no point of restarting this blog. Boo.

Now -- coming up soon will be my first outfit of the day! I might even do a 'Get To Know Me' post for those who are willing to read about a bored person. Hope you enjoy this random blog entry!
In the mean time, check out my YouTube!

Always,
Kristel.

Autumn

Finally, the season I have been waiting for... AUTUMN! I am not the type of girl who is into the pumpkin spice Starbucks or the ugg boots... BUT I am really into LAYERING! Most of the clothes in my closet are usually collared shirts, knitted sweaters, and leggings. I can not wait to feel cozy this autumn. I feel like summer is the time where I spend the MOST on clothing. There are rompers, crop tops, tanks, shorts, sandals, dresses, and so much more. My wallet literally cries.

I feel like autumn is where you can get creative, and I love being creative with fashion! It sounds super cliche, but I think fashion is the best way to showcase anyone's personality. I love the fact when I am feeling girly, I can throw on some tights, cute flats, and a pretty collared dress on. When I feel lazy and boyish, I can grab a v-neck tee, some leggings, a scarf, and my all-time-favorite... COMBAT BOOTS! I now own a second pair of black combat boots because I legit wore my first pair every single day during school. I have holes in them :(.. but I am glad to know that I spent my money on something I used every single day.

Another reason why I love autumn so much is because I can now wear my darker colors on a daily basis. I felt odd wearing dark clothes during the summer because I easily get hot and everyone is wearing bright colors with matching nail polish. Haha.

Are youuuuu ready for autumn?! I KNOW I AM!
See ya laters my blog readers.
Always,
Kristel.

Nerves

Normally I don't stress writing in my blog, but the fact that I'm openly talking about my day kind of makes me nervous. I used to keep journals ever since I was young and my online blogs were always private. I'm probably not going to be talking about the most serious topics in this blog, but maybe writing about my bad days won't be so bad.

Lately I have been having trouble starting this "new life" of mine. It's just me though. Who's watching me? They probably think this is stupid... or No one is going to watch my dumb videos. Those are only some of the things I think about on a daily basis. Then again, I shouldn't be so affected because I have to keep remembering that this is for fun. Nothing serious here. I'm just a person who loves editing videos. Watching famous YouTubers talk about their experiences with starting a channel seems too unreal. I literally watched everyone's first videos they uploaded and I am so surprised people even discovered them. It makes me realize that the first step is always the hardest step.

Okay, that's all for now. Bye!
Always,
Kristel.
